I was a kid in the 80's before the foodie explosion, back when Chinese, Italian, and Mexican were the height of exotic foreign cuisine. A YaYa's opened up near us and it was FREAKING AMAZING. Chicken that isn't fried? What sorcery is this? Pita bread? Honey butter? Unheard of! Whenever we ate there it was a treat that the whole family looked forward to. Then the location near us closed, and we were very sad. Insert picture of a kitten in the snow to show how sad we were. Fast forward to now. I was absolutely thrilled when I saw that we were getting a YaYa's near us. Now I could have that amazing food I remember from when I was ten! ...Except... The food revolution happened. The slightly-better-than-fast food market is larger than ever, and there are a ton of choices out there. Boston Market happened, with its selection of forty-seven million sides to go with your not-fried chicken. Ethnic restaurants aren't even trendy anymore; they're normal, and I can eat the food of a dozen different cultures while their stereo systems play me the songs of their people without having to drive more than a half hour in any direction. What I'm saying is that sort-of-Greek chicken just isn't that exciting to Adult "I don't even know what that is, let me try some" Me. The selection of sides is small, and the prices are a bit high. And I don't even bother with the pitas anymore. So, yeah. Adulthood wins over Childhood Nostalgia... Fatality. Taking the food away from my admittedly unrealistic expectations... it's okay. The marinaded chicken is tasty, though it can be dry at times. Their iceberg-lettuce salad is uninspiring, but I really love the house dressing. Mashed potatoes are... meh. Better than KFC, not as good as Boston Market. Bottom line: It's a good place to eat if you don't want a burger but don't want to pay sit-down prices. And it's healthy, so there's that. But it's not going to be somewhere I eat on a regular basis, and that's kind of a shame.

It's clean and very boring, very sterile no personality inside. Oh the chicken, way over cooked, it's dry so dry. The original wrap bad no sauce, the ceasers was basically same as original wrap but with packet of sauce on side. The whole place is just rather boring and blah. Sorry YaYa you need some spice.

Place is ok. Love lots of their chicken but their wraps aren't good. Dry. And they give you a side of some vinegarette that doesn't even go with the wrap. Get some sauces please. Their bbq wrap is very filling enough for two. Their beans are great, mashed potatoes are decent, their pita is good too. Get sauces, and add to the wraps some flavor and it'll be great.

I've always been a fan of Ya-Ya's, but when the Rochester location closed a few years back, I've been out of luck. Thank the Lord someone opened another local franchise, as I will be here weekly... I'm "jonesing" for it again! Love the chicken... flame grilled with their interesting spices really livens it up. Always get an extra pita and extra honey butter!! 2 piece white meal with sides costs more than KFC or Popeye's, but I love not having fried breading to get through...

Stumbled on this recently opened(?) place near my office. Years ago, I lived in AA and frequented the Ya Ya's on washtenaw. The 2013 Rochester version served it up exactly as I recall. Freshly grilled, chopped chicken on a bed of chopped romaine wrapped in a thick pita makes for a quick and tasty lunch. Finely chopped cole slaw with creamy and tangy dressing was a good side. The place is set in what looks to be a former wendy's. There is a drive-thru window if you're so inclined. The service was fast and friendly. The dining room is ex-wendy's style with a mix of tables and booths. Self-serve fountain drinks and condiments as typical of a fast food joint. For me, Ya Ya's is a cut above your typical fast food though. No fryer in sight and chicken grilling over open flames create a different and fast weekday lunch experience.

I love having a healthier drive through option near my home. The drive through was fast and the food tasted great. I've tried the chicken breast meal and the chicken kabob. Since I live pretty close my food was still pipping hot! If your tired of the normal McD's and BK then try YaYa's!

Chicken was dry, and some pieces were raw. I'm not sure how they cook the chicken exactly but its not working. Flavor was good. Service was good, workers were very friendly. Where's my baconator?
